Why did Jay-Z and Beyoncé call their twins Rumi and Sir

In an interview with Rap Radar, , Jay-Z gave the origin his twins’ names, Rumi and Sir.


It was in June that the twins of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Rumi and Sir, were born. Since then, the two stars were hovering suspense on the origin of the first names of the two babies. Questioned by Rap Radar, Jay-Z finally agreed to give some explanations on these original choices. “Rumi (a Muslim poet whose writings are particularly famous in the United States,) is our favorite poet, it was perfect for our daughter,” he said at first. As for Sir, who means “sir”, “it just seemed natural to us, it happened like that,”  told the artist.
